ORE Catapult Appoints Airlie to Its Board

UK’s Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult has appointed Adrienne Airlie to its Board.

Airlie joins ORE Catapult as a non-executive director after standing down as Martin Aitken & Co’s chief executive in 2018. She continues as a director of the firm.

Commenting on the appointment, Chairman Colin Hood, said: “Adrienne brings to our Board over 35 years’ experience in financial services, including responsibility for managing a portfolio of audit, accountancy and business advisory clients across a range of industries, as well as advising charities and not-for-profit organisations on finance, governance and regulation. Her extensive experience will further strengthen the Catapult’s finance, risk management and governance practices.”

Adrienne Airlie added: “This is an exciting and buoyant industry, and I’m looking forward to working with the team at ORE Catapult to promote and support the future financial sustainability of the UK renewables sector.

“The offshore renewables industry will increasingly provide a greater share of the UK’s generation mix and an affordable and secure source of energy. It is therefore vital that bodies such as ORE Catapult are financially resilient and well-positioned to continue to provide world-leading and best-in-class advice and facilities.”

Over the next five years, ORE Catapult will continue to drive offshore renewables innovation to grow UK businesses and reduce the cost of clean energy. Working with industry, government and academia, it provides leadership and coordination of the sector’s innovation priorities and supports industry through testing, demonstration, validation and research, enabling success for UK innovators.
