Swansea University Opens Two Positions for SELKIE Project

Swansea University is looking for research officer and research assistant for CFD modelling of tidal (and wind) turbine arrays using an existing advanced actuator disk model implemented in OpenFOAM.

The role includes further development of the model, publication of research outputs and interaction with industry partners.

The positions are full-time with fixed term until August 31, 2022. These positions will be based at the Bay Campus, Swansea.

The Marine Energy Research Group covers the engineering and environmental interactions of all types of marine renewables, with the majority of work focused on tidal stream turbines.

This research post will be part of a European Regional Development Fund project SELKIE, which aims to support the Marine Energy sector in Wales and Ireland.

SELKIE is a €5-million project lasting three years, and brings together six partners (research institutes, SMEs and third sector organisations) from Wales and Ireland. University College Cork (UCC) is the lead partner on this project and most project activities at the University sit with the Marine Energy Research Group based on the Bay Campus.
