France Energies Marines Secures €4M Funding

The French Prime Minister has agreed to continue funding for France Energies Marines, the Institute for Energy Transition (ITE) dedicated to marine renewable energies.

This support from the State, through the Investments for the Future Program, will see France Energies Marines, with its headquarters in Plouzané, near Brest, receive initial financial support of 4 million euros over 2 years, allocated to a new budget managed by the National Research Agency.

The recognition in ITE and the allocation of this amount constitute a considerable lever for the realization of shared R&D programs within France Energies Marines.

Created in 2012, France Energies Marines is supported by the Brittany-Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea competitiveness clusters and brings together more than 30 players, including: industrials, academic and scientific structures, but also local authorities.

The activities will now be carried by SAS France Energies Marines, established in early 2019.
