Participants will learn about the latest offshore renewable energy developments along Europe’s Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, with a particular focus on the regional economic and environmental impacts.

The session will encourage an exchange of views on the relationship between maritime communities and wave, tidal and floating wind projects.

The session will be moderated by Rémi Gruet, Ocean Energy Europe, CEO.

Speakers include:

– Andrew Scott, Orbital Marine Power, CEO

– Patrik Moller, Corpower, CEO

– Caitlin Long, European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), Environment and Consents Specialist

– Julien Ciglar, Région Occitanie (Ad’Occ) – Marine Renewable Energy Project Manager / Benoît Garrigues, Région Sud-Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur – Head of European and Mediterranean Cooperation.

The focus of the European Maritime Day 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, will be on blue entrepreneurship, research, innovation and investment to transform traditional maritime sectors and boost emerging technologies and value chains.
