Minesto’s tender call, launched in December 2018, for the supply of a new generator and power conversion system to support the development of Deep Green tidal power technology, has ended with no result.

According to the tender notice published on Welsh government’s procurement portal Sell2Wales, no tenders or requests to participate were received or all were rejected.

Swedish company is moving forward with the Deep Green technology, by progressing the development of a micro grid tidal and ocean current power plant.

The next step for Minesto is to procure the generator and power conversion system, which could potentially find its use in Faroe Islands, where the company is developing a clean energy project that will feature two of its smaller DG100 tidal energy devices, each rated at 100kW.

Back in December Minesto was looking for a contractor with the knowledge, skills and ability to deliver a concept, detailed design, and fabrication of the above mentioned system.
