“Imagine a subsea kite tethered to the seabed, converting energy from the ocean into electricity by flying autonomously under water.

“Then picture yourself as a part of an international development team behind this disruptive technology with exceptional world-wide market potential.”

This is Minesto‘s description of its Deep Green tidal technology included in the four engineering vacancies currently up for grabs in the company. The positions – open for applications until November 14, 2018 – will work on the Swedish-based developer’s subsea kite technology, whose first 500kW utility-scale version recently generated first power during its commissioning off Wales.

Minesto is seeking to expand its team with a Hydrodynamic Design Engineer, who will – according to the company – be instrumental in the development of its patented Deep Green technology, and deeply involved with all ongoing and future projects, from conceptual design through validation offshore.

Open also is the post of Mechanical Engineer, whose wok for Minesto will include all product development phases from conceptual design to detailed design and supplier selection.

Minesto, founded as a spin-off from aircraft manufacturer Saab, is also seeking Power Electronics Engineer who will analyze, design and test system for turbine control with new and existing converters, inverters, and perform other associated tasks for the company.

The final vacant position in this round of Minesto’s engineering recruitment spree is that of Software Engineer – Embedded Systems, whose job responsibilities entail collaborating with the company’s hydrodynamic experts on systems optimization. Also, the successful candidate is expected to provide system support during the commissioning of Minesto’s marine energy devices around the world.

Listed on the Nasdaq First North stock exchange with more than 50 employees and operations in Sweden, Wales, Northern Ireland and Taiwan – Minesto is one of the leading companies in the emerging tidal energy industry.
