ABPmer strengthens metocean team

ABPmer has expanded its metocean team with three experienced specialists as the company focuses on broadening its metocean consultancy service.

The company welcomed Robin Stephens, Dr Ian Wade and Dr Sarah Taws to its team, and said these new appointments will enable ABPmer to scale operations whilst meeting the increasing global demand for its metocean data and associated services.

Robin Stephens, Head of Metocean Consulting, has joined ABPmer from BMT Argoss and will be working from ABPmer’s Southampton office, where the company’s new Senior Metocean Consultant, Dr Sarah Taws – joining from Fugro Great Britain Marine Limited – will also be based. Dr Ian Wade, Principal Metocean Consultant, who has transferred to ABPmer from BMT Argoss, will be based in Aberdeen.

ABPmer metocean team’s advice has supported various operations, from designing offshore structures, planning operational and construction weather windows, through to tactical strategies for elite yacht racing, the company said. The team uses ABPmer’s metocean information service, SeaStates, to provide metocean statistics and weather downtime analysis.
