The company said its technical team had visited SEENEOH in Bordeaux this week to check in on the progress and development of the build ahead of the upcoming deployment of the device, and reported that the works on the project were swiftly moving forward.

“SEENEOH has provided great support on the build of the integrated platform, which is being constructed in the company’s workshops in France,” DesignPro said, adding that the platform will simplify on-site operations and maintenance procedures for the duration of the testing.

The DesignPro Renewables team will travel to Bordeaux again in September to support deployment procedures including on-site assembly, mooring and grid connection. The turbines will be assembled to the platform on a dry dock before being towed to the designated test location for mooring and grid connection.

The technology will undergo extensive environmental and operational testing during its testing phase. In addition, power outputs will be closely monitored in order to officially validate and certify the company’s power curves to internationally recognised Bureau Veritas standards.

Reporting on the latest developments with its 25kW device, DesignPro also stated that it was in the design process of their next, larger 60kW machine.
