Tidal Lagoon Power man joins HR Wallingford

Former Head of Turbine Development at Tidal Lagoon Power – Michael Case – has joined civil engineering organization, HR Wallingford, as Business Development Manager for the power sector.

Bringing 10 years’ experience in renewables project development, Case most recent position at Tidal Lagoon Power entailed working on turbine R&D along with lagoon strategic project development, site selection and feasibility studies.

Based at HR Wallingford’s Oxfordshire head office, Case will be leading on business development in the renewables, marine cables and nuclear sectors.

HR Wallingford’s recent work in the renewables sector includes working with ScottishPower Renewables to evaluate scour protection for piled jacket foundations at East Anglia ONE, and carrying out research on behalf of E.ON to advance the understanding of pile driving on fish species during wind farm construction.

Research in the Fast Flow Facility is also helping TenneT and the University of Rostock in Germany to obtain data to help to predict the movement of unexploded ordnance in the North Sea, and to assess the development of scour around substation jacket foundations in research funded by the German government, the environmental hydraulics organisation said.
