Minesto seeks engineers

Swedish tidal energy developer Minesto is looking to expand its team by filling out two newly opened engineering positions within the company.

Minesto is looking for one electrical and one mechanical engineer to join its team and help deliver its 500kW Deep Green tidal energy plant off North Wales later this year.

The overall responsibility of the electrical engineer is to support the electrical system of the power turbine, fastening devices and subsystems including various interfaces, and the subsea cabling and connections.

Aa a mechanical engineer for Minesto, the scope of work includes supporting the mechanical assemblies for the power turbine, fastening devices and subsystems including various mechanical interfaces and the subsea devices involved.

The applications for both positions are due by March 31, 2017.

The Deep Green power plant will be developed in phases, with the installation of the 500kW tidal power plant as part of the first phase, leading to additional deployments in what will eventually become an array with a total capacity of 10MW.

However, Minesto has recently revealed plans to expand its Deep Green tidal project from 10MW to 80MW.
