ORPC fortifies internal structure

Ocean Renewable Power Company (ORPC) has reorganized its leadership structure, with several other appointments made, as it looks to advance the company’s growth.

Namely, Chris Sauer has been named as Cofounder & CEO, transitioning from his former role as President & CEO, while John Ferland is promoted to President & COO of ORPC, the US-based hydrokinetic technology developer informed.

Also, Nate Hayes and Matt Wilson have joined ORPC’s engineering team.

ORPC promoted James Donegan to Lead Electrical Engineer and Director of European Operations at its Irish subsidiary ORPC Ireland.

Abbey Manders remains as Vice President of Finance & Administration, and Jarlath McEntee as Vice President of Engineering & CTO, ORPC said.

Currently, ORPC has ongoing funded projects totaling $16 million, according to the company, which also noted that it is continuing to pursue new opportunities in high cost power markets, primarily in Québec, through its Canadian subsidiary Énergies Marines Renouvelables Québécoises (EMARQ).

ORPC, headquartered in Portland, Maine, now has twenty-two employees working in three countries, and is developing tidal energy projects in Alaska, and Maine in the US, and across the Atlantic in Ireland.
