BRTP gets on GreenTec Awards 2017 list

Canadian tidal energy developer Black Rock Tidal Power (BRTP) has been included among the top 10 projects running in the Energy category of 2017’s GreenTec Awards.

Every year, the GreenTec Awards honor innovative products and projects that lead the way towards a more environmentally friendly future.

BRTP, a Schottel Hydro subsidiary, has been nominated for its semi-submersible Triton platform that houses Schottel Hydro turbines which exploit tides to produce clean power.

An online voting, running until January 7, 2017, will decide the project that will be automatically qualified as one of the three finalists in its category, while the winner will be later determined by the jury.

The jury, counting over 70 members composed of independent representatives from the economy, science, associations, and the media, will select the winner of each category on February 22, 2017.

The winners of the GreenTec Awards will be revealed on May 12, 2017, in Berlin.

As reported earlier, BRTP plans to deploy 2.5MW Triton platform that will host 40 SIT 250 turbines at the Fundy Ocean Research Centre for Energy (FORCE), near Parrsboro, Bay of Fundy in 2017.
