Wood Group names vice president of clean energy

Wood Group, an international energy services company, has appointed Jan Dell as its vice president of clean energy.

Based in Houston and leading a team of 350 people globally, Dell will build on Wood Group’s existing renewables technical services, consulting and advisory capabilities.

Dell will lead the broadening of services into adjacent sectors, namely water and climate, together with the geographic expansion of existing services, Wood Group informed.

Prior to joining Wood Group, Dell held senior strategy and management positions with AECOM, CH2M Hill and ConocoPhillips, where she led global energy and industrial project developments incorporating sustainable designs.

Bob MacDonald, Wood Group’s CEO at Specialists Technical Solutions, said: “From our beginnings focused on wave power, we have grown and enhanced our clean energy portfolio, providing solutions to complex technological challenges in onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, hydro and biomass. The appointment of Jan provides us with the leadership to drive further growth.”

Jan Dell said: “Wood Group’s expertise across the spectrum of energy resources and value chain is a dynamic platform to advance the global energy transition that is underway. I’m pleased to join the launch of the clean energy group and bring my passion for progress to the enterprise.”

Dell is currently vice chair of the US Federal Advisory Committee for the Sustained National Climate Assessment and was convening lead author of the Energy Supply and Use Chapter of the US National Climate Assessment report, published in April 2014.
