MeyGen project components readying for installation (photos)

Another Andritz 1.5MW tidal turbine has left the factory, with foundation stabs and a massive cable management system currently being mobilised for the MeyGen project, according to Atlantis Resources’ social media pages.

Meanwhile, turbine foundations are lined up at Global Energy Group’s Nigg marshalling yard, waiting for the installation at the MeyGen site.

Geosea, part of the DEME Group that recently bought a stake in Atlantis Resources’ Scottish project development vehicle Tidal Power Scotland (TPSL), will install all heavy turbine foundation structures and some of the turbines for MeyGen Phase 1A using its jack-up vessel MV Neptune.

Atlantis will install four tidal turbines as part of the Phase 1A of the recently grid-connected MeyGen project, with the combined capacity of 6 MW. Three turbines are made by Andritz Hydro, and one is designed by Lockheed Martin.
