Representatives from the 13 First Nations will present their stories of how they created innovative community energy and development projects, with Beaubassin Mi’kmaq Wind Management explaining how they created wind energy projects collectively owned by all Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Bands.

Government officials and business leaders will give presentations on topics such as energy efficiency and tidal energy.

“Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Energy and Innovation Summit 2016 will celebrate Mi’kmaq Nation success creating innovative community economic development projects, and it will share the knowledge gained from creating those projects with people from across Canada and around the world”, said Steve Parsons, Vice-President, Beaubassin Mi’kmaq Wind Management. “Businesses will be able to create joint ventures by speaking directly with representatives from each of Nova Scotia’s 13 Mi’kmaq communities.”
