The Invest North East England (INEE) team, North East Local Enterprise Partnership (NELEP) and the NECA constituent authorities are seeking expressions of interest for a consultancy study that would evaluate the competitive position of the region in relation to offshore and subsea market opportunities.

In addition to assessing the competitiveness of the region in offshore and subsea markets, the purpose of the study is also to identify the potential new sub-market opportunities, as well as the wider ecosystem of support assets such as R&D, innovation catapults, training, and professional services.

Furthermore, the study is expected to update information on the likely receipt of business rates income from key marine/offshore enterprise zone sites to further enhance the case for public sector intervention, and to produce INEE marketing action plan that would list target inward investors in key markets and sub-sectors.

The project is expected to last from September 12, 2016 until March 31, 2017.

To remind, North Tyneside Council recently opened a specialist business centre for innovation in Wallsend with the aim to transform the area into a hub for the renewable energy and marine sectors.
