HeliosAltas has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Italy-based Rampinelli to explore manufacturing and development projects for Helios PowerWheel in Italy and Europe.

The parties have signed an MoU agreeing to form a cooperative venture for the purposes of developing projects, support servicing and selling the PowerWheel, California-based clean technology manufacturer informed.

The scope of cooperation under the MoU consists of joint efforts to evaluate and ascertain the Italian market and to develop commercial projects utilizing the PowerWheel technology.

The installation, operation and obtaining long term Power Purchase Agreements utilizing these initial units may also be undertaken under this agreement, HeliosAltas informed.

Michael Carroll, HeliosAltas CEO, said: “The European market has channelized water throughout the continent, so it is an ideal location to deploy the PowerWheel in series to create a Hydro-Farm to provide consistent renewable energy.”

The Helios PowerWheel is a suspended hydroelectric generator with the power output from 5 kW to 40 kW which can produce clean electricity from moving water in canals, industrial water loops, rivers, tidal flows and the base of dams.

All of the generation components are contained within the shell of the unit, which can be installed in series or parallel in hydro farms to produce megawatts of power.

Rampinelli operates in the manufacturing sector specializing in custom metal, mid and large size components construction.
