Scottish Gov, DECC hire Royal HaskoningDHV

Royal HaskoningDHV has been contracted by the Scottish government and the UK Government’s Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to deliver consultancy services for Orkney Marine Energy Array demonstration project.

Royal HaskoningDHV will be tasked with developing a proposal for marine energy research and development activities on Orkney that will help secure a clear pathway towards full commercialisation for the sector.

The proposal should be usable to outline a compelling case for the EU funding support.

The two key elements for which the funding support will be required are:

  • the research and demonstration activity itself,
  • the investment in the associated grid infrastructure.

This work relates to a high-profile initiative between the two Governments, who are working together as part of the Scottish Islands Renewables Delivery Forum.

The Forum is chaired by Ministers from the Scottish and UK Governments and aims to support the delivery of the huge renewable energy potential of the Scottish islands, and the necessary grid infrastructure.

Royal HaskoningDHV is an independent, international engineering and project management consultancy that delivers services in the fields of aviation, buildings, energy, industry, infrastructure, maritime, mining, transport, urban and rural planning and water.
