Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has begun the delivery of a long term scope for cable management consultancy services to Wave Hub Ltd, based in Hayle, Cornwall.

Under the contract OMM is expected to deliver cable consultancy services throughout the project lifecycle, from survey and reporting through to overseeing cable handling, installation and maintenance of the Wave Hub test site.

In addition, OMM will provide procurement support and assistance with any funding applications from its UK-based head office, as well as providing assistance to developers at the site by identifying solutions to reduce the costs and risks associated with their cabling work, OMM’s press release reads.

John Lawton, Director at OMM, said: “The site offers the marine industry great potential for growth but managing and protecting an effective cable system is paramount to exploiting it and harnessing the energy it generates. We are pleased to support this exciting initiative and to assist with the technically difficult subsea work including the interface of devices into the substation.”
