Exceedence joins Ocean Energy Europe

Exceedence, the developer behind a financial planning, evaluation and optimisation software – ExceedenceFINANCE – built for the marine renewables industry, has become a member of Ocean Energy Europe.

Rémi Gruet, CEO, Ocean Energy Europe, said: “We welcome Exceedence as our newest member. The production of sophisticated financial modelling software, such as ExceedenceFINANCE, is a further sign of the sector’s growing maturity and will contribute to declining project development costs in the years to come.”

ExceedenceFINANCE was funded by Enterprise Ireland, and developed by software engineers, financial analysts, industry specialists, and researchers in University College Cork MaREI centre, before being spun out into Exceedence.

Its aim is to allow all the stakeholders from device developers, project developers, government agencies, VCs, utilities, consultants and financial houses to quickly and easily create robust and reliable techno-financial models built around existing and emerging standards.

Ray Alcorn, CEO of Exceedence, said: “We are delighted to become members of OEE and hope that Exceedence and our offerings can help accelerate the industry towards credible commercial returns. ExceedenceFINANCE is the first product in our pipeline and we will continue to develop further modules, software tools and services in response to the needs of the renewable industry.”

Exceedence was set up in 2014 to catalyse commercialisation and investment in marine renewable industry by providing the gold standard financial evaluation for the sector.

Ocean Energy Europe is a Brussels-based industry group representing the renewable ocean energy sector in Europe.
