MRC sets up funding opportunities webinar

Marine Renewables Canada is hosting a webinar on Canadian funding programs for marine renewable energy innovations.

The aim of the webinar is to introduce the participants to the Canadian funding programs that could potentially support businesses and researchers in bringing new products or services to market.

The growing marine renewable energy sector presents numerous opportunities for businesses and researchers to apply expertise, transfer technology, develop innovations, and find solutions required by local and global markets.

Webinar participants will learn about funding programs and parameters from the following organizations:

  • Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) – Atlantic Innovation Fund,
  • Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP),
  • Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) – SDTech Fund,
  • Offshore Energy Research Association (Nova Scotia) – various programs.

The themes that will be covered during the seminar concern objectives of funding programs, eligibility and applicability to marine renewable energy-related projects, guidelines and application process, and funding allocations/amounts.

Businesses and researchers with concepts/ideas for new innovations, technologies, and R&D projects are invited to attend the seminar, along with anyone interested in marine renewables energy industry.

The seminar will be held on July 7, 2015, at 2 pm (ADT), and it requires registration.

Marine Renewables Canada is the country’s wave, tidal, and river current energy association representing technology and project developers, utilities, researchers, and the energy and marine supply chain.
