Carnegie Wave shortlisted for Sustania 100 award

Australian wave energy developer Carnegie Wave Energy has been selected in the Global Sustania 100, an annual international award that honours outstanding sustainability performance.

Carnegie was selected for the Sustainia 100 shortlist from over 1.500 different sustainable projects from 151 countries.

The Sustainia Award is given to a solution, technology or project with significant potential to help build a more sustainable future.

According to Carnegie Wave, its CETO technology was selected for the Sustainia 100 shortlist due to its potential for remote island markets, and was evaluated against five criteria: availability, environmental impact, financially viability, improvement of life quality; and scalability.

The award ceremony where the final Sustania Award will be announced, will be held in Paris in December, 2015, to coincide with the UN COP21 Climate Change Summit.

SUSTAINIA 100 is an annual guide to 100 innovative sustainable solutions from around the world. The guide identifies readily available projects, initiatives and technologies at the forefront of sustainable innovation.
