Birmingham to house new Energy Systems Catapult

In UK’s Budget 2015 the government has announced investments in the creation of the new Energy Systems Catapult in Birmingham.

The government will invest an initial GBP 60 million in a proposal made by six universities across the Midlands for a new Energy Research Accelerator, a major project to develop the energy technologies of the future.

As part of the government’s creation of science catapult centres across the country, it is supporting a new Energy Systems Catapult in Birmingham, which will bring together researchers and industry in order to develop new technologies and products, it is stated in the Budget 2015 document.

The new centre will work closely with others in the network, especially the Transport, Future Cities and Offshore Renewable Energy Catapults.
