New co-located events to bring marine energy industries together

The National Hydropower Association (NHA) Marine Energy Council has announced new co-located events, the International Marine Renewable Energy Conference (IMREC) and Marine Energy Technology Symposium (METS).

The events will be co-located with the NHA Annual Conference, and are expected to bring the latest news on U.S. and international marine energy projects, international standards development, environmental monitoring, design tools, testing infrastructure, offshore safety and construction, advanced materials and metals fabrication.

The international collaboration is expected to bring together industry professionals from the hydro, wave, tidal, ocean current and riverine sectors to represent the global hydropower industry and educate one another on value of hydro and marine energy in current and future markets.

Linda Church Ciocci, NHA Executive Director, said: “Bringing the conventional and marine energy industries together under one roof provides benefits to both as we collectively advocate the importance of all hydropower technologies as solutions to our nation’s energy challenges.”

All three events will take place on April 27-29 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C.
