Pelamis Wave Power owed GBP 13 mln to Scottish Enterprise

Pelamis Wave Power’s debts, prior to its falling into administration, amount to more than GBP 15 mln in total.

Pelamis’ debt to Scottish Enterprise was GBP 8 mln at the time the company went into administration.

The total debt amount increases to GBP 12.8 mln when interest charges and fees are calculated, according to the Scotsman, an Edinburgh-based news provider.

According to a statement of the company’s affairs produced as part of the administration process, the estimated amount Scottish Enterprise is entitled to is around GBP 660.000.

Edinburgh Council, the universities of Dundee and Edinburgh, Orkney Ferries and PR firm Grayling are among the other creditors owed approximately GBP 3.5 mln.

After Pelamis’ collapse, HIE obtained Pelamis’ assets and intellectual property on behalf of Wave Energy Scotland (WES), a new body established to support Scotland’s wave energy sector.
