Resolute Marine’s CEO resigns from IEC TC-114 U.S. delegation

Resolute Marine Energy CEO Bill Staby has withdrawn from the U.S. delegation to IEC TC-114, where he served as the Chairman, the company’s press release reads.

He will be replaced by Jonathan Colby who is the Director of Technology Performance at Verdant Power.

Bill Staby commented on his resignation:

“The work you (IEC TC-114 team) are doing is moving the marine renewable energy industry nearer to the point where banks and insurance companies can contribute to the growth of the industry and that is an incredibly positive step in the right direction.”

IEC TC-114 is the committee that, since 2008, has been developing international technical specifications and standards for marine energy conversion systems. The primary focus is on conversion of wave, tidal and other water current energy into electrical energy, although other conversion methods, systems and products are included.

Staby will continue to serve on the newly-formed Marine Energy Operating Management Committee (ME-OMC) which is part of the new Renewable Energy Conformity Assessment System.
